The Boulevard Millivolt allows you to have a standing pilot light 24/7. The Millivolt ignition system allows you to manually turn the fireplace on or off, and is great, for example, if the power goes out you can still use your fireplace due to no electric ignition needed. A standing pilot light from the Millivolt ignition system is also great during the winter, because the standing pilot will maintain a small amount of heat in your fireplace to keep the system and flue warm.
